Director, MIER
Dr. Adit Gupta is the Director of Model Institute of Education and Research Jammu and is also
a Professor and Principal at the MIER College of Education, Jammu. He has a Ph.D. in the
field of 'Technology Supported Learning Environments' from Curtin University, Perth,
Australia and Master's degree in Psychology and Education. Dr. Gupta has over 24 years of
teaching and professional experience at various levels and has contributed a lot for the
promotion of educational research in the institution. Recipient of the prestigious 'Endeavour
Executive Award' of the Australian Government in the year 2009 for conducting research in
his area of specialization, he has also been appointed as an 'Endeavour Awards Ambassador'
for the year 2016 by the Australian Government and is also an 'Adjunct Research Fellow' at
Curtin University, Australia.
He is also an alumnus of the 'International Visitors Leadership
Programme' (IVLP) of the US Government wherein he was invited to visit United States to
study the system of primary and secondary education. Psychosocial learning environments,
Educational Technology, STEM Education, Educational Psychology, Educational
Measurement and Evaluation, teacher and school education are his primary areas of research.
He is a member of various prestigious bodies such as the National Association of Research in
Science Teaching (NARST), USA, The American Education Research Association (AERA),
All India Association for Educational Research (AIAER) and Australasian Science Education
Research Association (ASERA) etc.
Dr. Gupta has participated and presented papers in
numerous national and international conferences and has been working as a reviewer and
assessor of research papers at the international level. He has also been supervising and guiding
research dissertations at the M.Ed. and Ph.D. levels. Dr. Gupta is also the managing editor of
the MIER Journal of Educational Studies, Trends and Practices (MJESTP)-an international
peer reviewed journal. Dr. Gupta has been a trained assessor of the NAAC and has acted as the
member coordinator for various NAAC peer team visits in the past. He has been awarded an
Innovation Patent by the Registrar of Patents-Commonwealth of Australia for his research
on Online Teaching and Learning. Besides, he has also received the Editorial Excellence
Award twice, National Eminent Editor Award, International Academic Leader Award and Best
Senior Researcher Award for his contributions to academia and research.
