Joint Director, MIER
Ms. Ruchika Gupta is the Joint Director, MIER Group. She has over 20 years of work experience, including 15 years in school and higher education. Ruchika holds a BFA Degree from Jamia Millia Islamia and a B.Ed degree from the University of Jammu. She is the Founding Treasurer of the FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter, helping champion women entrepreneurship and empowerment in the region.
At MIER, Ruchika works at the intersection of design, architecture, art, people and operations management. She is responsible for campus development, modernization, creation of student-centric learning spaces, workplace safety, personnel management, environment and sustainability. She has championed the creation of "Green Campuses", planted over 3000 trees and has been instrumental in meeting 30% electricity needs of the campus through solar energy.
Ruchika earlier setup and managed the Humming Buds pre-school, under the Model Academy School, growing it from inception to over 250 children spread over two campuses. She has been an entrepreneur in the past running a chocolate making business out of Bengaluru and supplying to a chain of boutique supermarkets.
Ruchika is an avid painter and loves music and dance. She is passionate about social work, leading to the adoption of village Amb in Raipur Tehsil of Jammu. Ruchika works extensively with the Govt. Middle School Amb, conducting resource generation drives resulting in significant improvement in the infrastructure and student facilities. She also works with the local panchayat to help improve the health and sanitation for the locals.
